The creator and producer of Nine’s hit telemovie The Alice has quit before the network could commission a series. Robyn Sinclair, who worked as a script executive at the nine network before leaving to produce the telemovie for independent company Southern Star, is believed to have walked away from her project. A nine spokesmen said it was hoped she would return if and when a series is commissioned, perhaps in a consulting role. In the meantime former Stingers producer John Wild has been recruited by Southern Star and will continue to develop The Alice as a eries, along with other projects. The Alice was the first of two telemovies ordered by Nine as potential series pilots. The second, Big Reff is expected to screen next month, with an announcement on any series to follow soon after. Nine is yet to announce the fate of Stingers, but it seems unlikely to return next year.
